use their prior experience to develop those skills to which they have already
been introduced. Emphasis is placed on developing the drawing into a painting.
This course will guide the student through a variety of drawing and media and
techniques, both dry and wet to focus on painting in oil and/or acrylic. The
painting approach for these two media is very similar, and they can even be
effectively combined in the same painting, acrylic may also be used virtually as
watercolour. The course will also review seeing/drawing skills and composition,
and explore how to work with photo references. Pencil and white paper only
needed for the first class; supply list to be discussed in class.
